What pets do you own?

Just curious, what pets do people own here? And what pets would you like?

I have several betta fish and aquatic frogs. I once had red-clawed crabs, but they passed away. Very cool critters though.

I used to have dogs and a cat but they all died. The dogs died of cancer, and the cat died of old age (she was 19 and had kidney failure). I loved them all very much but I was super close to my cat. I love cats lol

I want a bird but my parents don't want pets in the house. They got mad at me over some freaking fish lol!

I have a Dog. She's a pure bread Pit Bull. Her name is Ms. Dove, from the book "Good Morning Ms. Dove." she's three-and-a-half years old, and she's Black with a bit of brown and she doesn't shed. She had a litter of nine puppies, all of which were adopted at the shelter where we got her last August. She's so sweet and full of energy, she's so adorable. I really love her to pieces. I'll be getting a guide this upcoming april. She loves other dogs, and I'm pretty sure they'll get along. If they don't, she goes as much as it breaks my heart...

I have a dog. He's a Shih Tzu and his name is Zuie. He will be 4 this summer. I would love to have a cat however my wife doesn't want one. As a matter a fact I wouldn't mind another dog maybe a german sheppered but she won't let me have that either lol.

Post 6 by loves animals (This site is so "educational") on Friday, 07-Feb-2014 22:40:18

i love cats too, smiles.
We have a cat whom looks like a lion and hunts like one too, lol, his name is meow meow.
We also have a rabbit called sunny though she is very much in her cage a lot but if we were to let her out there would be no doubt in her being eaten.
I would love to have a dog too.

Post 7 by UniqueOne (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Saturday, 08-Feb-2014 20:56:49

why would the bunny be eaten? If someone could watch it then it could be let out of the cage.
The description of your cat sounds really neat! Does the cat bring you little, "presents?" My mom has 3 cats and a lot of times during the summer some headless animal/s or other is found on the patio

I used to have a fluffy orange beast of a cat named Max but ended up having to rehome him because an x girlfriend was really abusive to him and so he started behaving really unpredictably towards people. But now I have a fluffy black and wite beast of a cat named Joan Jett. She used to belong to my folks. She's sixteen this year and so my dad tends to call her Old Lady whenever he comes over to my place. Hello OldLady. LOL.

Post 9 by UniqueOne (I'll have the last word, thank you!) on Sunday, 09-Feb-2014 12:57:24

Aww so cute! I'm sorry about max though. Some people are really messed up.

Post 10 by BryanP22 (Novice theriminist) on Sunday, 09-Feb-2014 17:34:34

No kidding. It still makes me angry.

I have a Pit Bull named Princess. She's the most laid back dog I've ever had, and I'm going to work with her soon on the Canine Good Citizen certification, which will allow her to go to hospitals and other public places as a therapy dog.

Post 12 by Nicky (And I aprove this message.) on Thursday, 13-Feb-2014 19:45:44

I have had a lot of pets groing up.
When I lived with my mom we had as follows...

Worning, this list is long...
A cat named garfield
two dogs one names Blacky, forgot the other
A parit named Rocko
a duck named donald Duck, then I changed it to Daffy once we found out it was a girl. That lasted a few minutes then i changed it back to donald cause I couldn't remember to call it Daffy. I found out a few months later that my real dad's name was Donald too.
We had four snakes 1 was a baby Cobra with its fangs removed. I begged for it, She was mine. A few bowa's and Pithons.
Some love birds, pidgions, doves and I am not sure what other birds.
Rose hair Tarantula
mud frogs
eguana
some small lizard
squorpions
rabit i think...
mice for the snakes
crickits for the frogs and lizards, we always got live ones.
pigs
deers for a couple of weeks before they got taken away
turtles
hamsters maybe?
white Farit named casper

I can't remember the rest, i would have to ask my sister. But we joked we had a zoo except for the zebra.

Then once i lived in with my aunt and uncle, they bread dogs so we had Chawa wa's,Shih Tzus, Yorkies, mutts
Then the birds, African Greys, Parakeets, Quakers,
a few cats over the years
A turtle
And all those damn fish. We had a business which we sold coi.
hamster Sinthia who came carrying babies we found out later
farit named Gilbert

Sorry for my millions of misspelt animals and such...

today...
I have a guide dog black lab.
my room mate have a mess of a dog who gets in and eats everything.

I had a couple of cats Kitty and tommy before me guide and a couple of rushin dorph hampsters for a few months.

there you go...
That was most of them...

PS.. once I counted while living with my aunt, we had about 67 dogs at once...

Post 13 by Imprecator (The Zone's Spelling Nazi) on Friday, 14-Feb-2014 1:04:20

Jesus. That place must've stank to high hell.

Post 14 by Nicky (And I aprove this message.) on Friday, 14-Feb-2014 8:07:23

It might have. I don't remember. I do remember we kept most of them in the car garage that was converted in to a room.
I know when I lived with my aunt and we had all those dogs, it did smell bad. It still does from what I hear and it was really bad.

I love animals but I don't think I could ever get anymore than a guide. I love the freedom of not having to take care of them and I grew up with so many, i am afraid I would just keep getting them and end up on the news as the nutt with a zoo. LOL! Ok, so maybe not that bad but I would just not have any pets. I think i had a few life times of them to not need any more.
I might get one other pet but no more than a couple at a time... maybe... i like just having this one dog...

My veterinarian has 15 dogs. I don't know how he does it, but ehhh. I also know someone who had 14 cats and another person who owned 11 horses. Jeez... lol!

Post 17 by loves animals (This site is so "educational") on Saturday, 12-Apr-2014 8:22:43

wow that was quite a lot of animals you listed there and it must of cost a lot to feed them all.

We had a German Shepard named Hydi. She got put down when I was about 4. Then came Willie the cat who was given to us from a neighbor. When I was 8 right before we moved, the collar for the cat was left in our mailbox and we never saw our cat again. Then came Kallie the second Shepard for my tenth birthday. When my mom and her BF who was like my dad broke up when I was 13, she went with him but I babysit her all the time. She died in 06 from hip problems. In 2002 we adopted a cat named Sassie who disappeared in 2004 after hurricane Francis. In 2003, we adopted another cat to play with Sassie named Fred and my mom still has her. I now am married and I have a yellow lab guide and my husband has a yellow lab guide.

awe I'm sorry to hear of the unfortunate luck you've had with animals and I send my sympathies to you and there a good breed of dog, smiles.

My wife and I have 3 cats a tuxito mail named kayla only because we were told he was a girl and so we named him and then we got him fixed and turned out he has nuts but he was use to the name so kayla stuck. we have two twin calico cats named mia and mya as well. We also have a beagle pitbull mix named Charlie, he was abandoned in the desert by a family who didn't want him, and was found and taken in by my wifes sister who gave him to us as a gift. he is such a joy and a lovable dog, he's not a guide dog just a family pet and Is currently chewing on a nyla bone as I type. My wife is a total cat person and has a huge love for most other animals and I am a total dog person. The name Charlie isn't our favorite but he had it upon arrival so it stuck as well.

Two cats, and we had two ferrets which we gave away to a family friend. Ferrets are very
interesting pets, and surprisingly intelligent.

Post 23 by loves animals (This site is so "educational") on Friday, 14-Nov-2014 4:18:15

awe nice of you to have taken the dog in and we have the one cat though we use to have 2 rabbits, 4 kittens whom had been rescued from underneath a house which is next door to us and it was thought that the mother had rejected her babies.
We got the kittens and rabbits re-homed and one of our neighbours took a kitten, named it micky and now it is friends with our cat meow meow, smiles.

My fiancé and I just adopted a cat, and named her Cassie. She's a domestic short-hair, so basically a mutt. LOL. She's a gray and brown tabby. She's extremely talkative, and playful, but so cute!

I want a cute little monkey. I would hug him and love him and call him George.

Post 27 by LeoGuardian (You mean there is something outside of this room with my computer in it?) on Thursday, 20-Nov-2014 12:25:25

I love it when people who find out the Daughter is on her own, say, "Why don't you get a dog?"
My response?
I just spent 18 years looking after a kid. Still look after her in new and different ways. What do I want to look after a dog for? Pick up its turds, brush off its fleas, feed it, play with it, keep it out of things? ... sounds sort of like having a teenager all over again.' Wish I could see the expression on the face afterwards. Especially of the hipsters.

Post 28 by loves animals (This site is so "educational") on Friday, 21-Nov-2014 5:51:38

Awe that would be so cool if we could have a monkey as a pet and it would be fun to watch in what kind of mischief it would get up to, smiles.

Post 29 by LeoGuardian (You mean there is something outside of this room with my computer in it?) on Friday, 21-Nov-2014 11:57:50

Again, get a teenager, and you've got your monkey right there.

Post 30 by loves animals (This site is so "educational") on Saturday, 22-Nov-2014 5:00:11

hahahahahaha, grins.

Post 31 by Imprecator (The Zone's Spelling Nazi) on Monday, 01-Dec-2014 14:33:50

I kinda want a tank of crayfish. At least us blind folks can touch them, unlike goldfish and such things.

Post 32 by loves animals (This site is so "educational") on Tuesday, 02-Dec-2014 3:41:24

I wouldn't because they'd be able to nip your fingers which would hurt

Post 33 by Imprecator (The Zone's Spelling Nazi) on Tuesday, 02-Dec-2014 11:57:59

Nah it doesn't hurt that much. We had some in my fourth grade class and I held them lots of times.

Post 34 by LeoGuardian (You mean there is something outside of this room with my computer in it?) on Tuesday, 02-Dec-2014 13:00:30

Second to that one could keep hermit crabs.

Post 36 by KatherineSnape (Newborn Zoner) on Wednesday, 29-Apr-2015 12:11:24

I have a cat. He is seven years old. He is a Russian Blue. Loves to play fetch, and loves to talk. Loves lap cuddles and cuddles under the blankets.

Post 37 by KatherineSnape (Newborn Zoner) on Wednesday, 29-Apr-2015 12:12:05

Oops. And his name is Tytus James.

Post 38 by ADVOCATOR! (Finally getting on board!) on Thursday, 30-Apr-2015 11:05:45

I had puppies as a kid, but lost them. First one, I lost because my mother got mad because it was protecting me. The second, I lost when I went into Foster Care. That should say who the first pup wanted to protect me from.
When I moved on my own, I got Rachel my female whatever kitty. She's black and white. And, she's weird. She makes a barking meow sometimes. LOL
Harley I named after someone I really thought was cool. She only lasted nearly five years. She died of liver failure. Now, I have Miracle, who is five, Siamese, and the biggest smart ass, I ever knew! Hahaha!
Rachel's dying of kidney and liver problems. And, she's 19, or will be in just over a month. She might as well be. She acts like I have to spoil her, because, she's old and deserves it. Problem is, I do it. She's got me firmly wrapped around her little paw. So does Miracle.
What I can't figure out, is how can they not figure out you stick your paw up to the feed tower, to get more food down? I think they can do it, and are just making me so they can be lazy lumps.
Leo, raising animals seems to be like raising kids. They want attention when "they" decide they want it. Hahahahaha! Very demanding. I love both monsters... Urm, kitties! LOL
Blessings,
Sarah/HW

awe and I agree our animals are like our children and no matter what they get up to whether it be entertaining or they are just getting up to mischief we still love them to bits, smiles.
I have a cat whom is 5 years and called wishes whom loves kissing me and sleeping on my bed, snuggling with me in my chair that rocks and likes to go in his basket to sleep some times but more or less loves my bed more and it is because his previous owner would not allow him to do this but I have because of loving him and spoiling him which is a bit difficult for me not to do especially with animals, grins.
